History: Those who forget the past are doomed….

I think there’s a whole lot of need for history education in this country. There’s a whole lot of people who think a whole lot of absolute nonsense about US and world history.

Let’s be honest…

To be fair, the public schools have done an absolutely terrible job of teaching history… you know, the whole Washington cut down the cherry tree, told his father “I cannot tell a lie” utter nonsense (Washington’s father died when GW was an infant).

I am a historian, and when I see stuff like “The (fill in the blank of your favorite sacred cow) is the most persecuted group in history” stuff, I want to just say “yeah, well, then you have obviously never heard of Genghis Khan and the mongols… you want persecution?

Genghis Kahn - a bad history

Genghis Kahn

Genghis was a dude with a seriously bad history

How about mass exterminating EVERYBODY in entire countries just because their leader insulted the Khan. MILLIONS and MILLIONS lined up and beheaded. Entire armies bound and trussed up, put in a pile onto which a wooden road is built, so that the mongols could sit on it and eat their meals as they listened to the lamentation and screams as their victims were crushed & suffocated, or died of thirst… just because their stupid leader refused to send some men to fight for Genghis, he killed everyone in the country, their livestock, their pets, EVERYTHING.”

THAT is persecution.

Let me help by giving a couple of podcast links. I encourage everybody to give em a listen.

Want to find out what REALLY happened during the American “not so civil” war (that’s his current series): Prof CJ’s – Dangerous History Podcast

Tune in to CJ to learn the truth about the founding fathers… the dude’s a college professor and backs up his views with evidence & research.

Want to know about the Mongols? WW1? Dan Carlin – Hardcore History Library

I especially recommend the WWI series, it’s outstanding, better than most books out there.
