For reasons that I will get into, at length, at a further point in time Spice and I suspended posting here on Beans, Bullets, Bandages and You three years ago.
I’m glad to tell you these reasons are not because of a SHTF event in our lives, nobody got sick, or fired, the house didn’t burn down, nothing like that.
Honestly? I thought about scrapping the whole project.
Why?
Because people put their politics over their prepping, in mass. The community, such as it was, turn against it’s self and ate it’s young.
We were disheartened. We were ashamed. We wanted nothing to do with it.
Here at 3BY, we’ve always prided ourselves for being non-political, for focusing on the prepping, not the blaming. Focusing on the science, not the sarcasm. It seems like there’s just no place for people like us in this dreary community.
Perhaps there isn’t. Perhaps people who think they are preppers but who put their faith not in God but in some politician on the right or the left to lead them can’t find a place for what it is we are doing.
Truth is, I don’t care what people who follow a demagogue (again, left or right) think. I just don’t. Politics be damned.
The media lies. The politicians all lie. AI lies. We live in dystopian times.
But there are truths. You are the only one that can take care of you and yours. You can make sure your family is fed. Clothed. Safe.
Everything else is just noise.
Perhaps it’s time to get back to the basics, and help us protect our own, not by blathering away talking points some AI bot made up, posting fake AI generated crap on social media, listening to one source for information because “they say what I want to hear”, all that stuff.
Perhaps it’s time to take a deep breath, ground and center.
