Here’s where we try to help the reluctant spouse see it from the prepper’s eyes just a bit.  Points include:

It’s not about the TV-land version like Doomsday Preppers.  We’re prepping mostly for things that happen all the time; some of which are very likely to happen to everyone sometime in their life.  Since that helps one be prepared for the very bad but very rare events too, so much the better.  Prepping helps you to thrive, through good times and bad.

Prepping is a combination of insurance – spending a little to protect yourself against disasters you can not afford to withstand without the help – and buying things you’d need anyway, just ahead of when you actually need them.

Prepping can reduce a lot of life’s minor hassles, and greatly increase one’s peace of mind.
