  1. Sorry to say this, but if you’re in SO Cal,
well you’re in pretty deep poo.
But, as many believe, FEMA will be there to save the day….. Maybe?

    • I’ve gotta admit SOCAL is not really a place I would choose to live, as a prepper.

In fact, it’s got absolutely NOTHING going for it… several major risks, bad water supply, huge population with no native food supply, bad gun laws, I could go on and on.

  2. The last major earthquake from the New Madrid fault occurred at 2:15 a.m. on December 16, 1811. Those of us living east of the Mississippi might have a false sense of security because we do not live in a hot zone for volcanoes and earthquakes. However!!!. Historical accounts mention that the shaking rang church bells in Charleston, South Carolina, and toppled chimneys as far away as Cincinnati (my own hometown!!). A similar event in present times may just be the SHTF people have been prepping for. LINK: https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/the-great-midwest-earthquake-of-1811-46342/

    • Exactly, Brian… there were reports that when the New Madrid fault let go in 1811, it rang church bells in Boston. Boston is nowhere near New Madrid, Missouri.

This zone has such a large damage area including a bunch of major and smaller cities that it could, literally, cause a general TEOTWAWKI type collapse nationally. Leveling St. Louis, Memphis plus all the smaller towns around them, plus all the railroads between Vicksburg and Fr. Madison, Iowa (i.e. most trans-continental rail lines) by taking out their Mississippi, Ohio, Illinois and Missouri river bridges… that’s a big deal.
